The Sem lost out 2-1 to Charleville in the Munster Junior soccer final.(U-16) The match was played in Charleville in front of several hundred spectators. The opening half was evenly contested. Charleville opened the scoring in the 14th minute from a corner. Jamie Spillanne drilled home a free kick to the top corner to level the match in the 26th minute. A Charleville penalty saw the hosts lead at half time. The 2nd half saw the Sem lay siege to the opposition goal, but a combination of excellent goalkeeping, missed chances, a disallowed goal and penalty claims that were not awarded saw Charleville hang on.
Congratulations to Charleville, but well done also to Mr.Simon Moore and his panel and we'll see more of them in the Senior cup next year!
