St. Brendan’s College celebrates 150 years.
A year of celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of St. Brendan’s college began with mass in St. Mary’s cathedral last Sunday, May 16th, celebrated by
past pupil Bishop Bill Murphy.
Over the next year there will be a wide range of activities to celebrate
150 years of faith and learning.
Included in this will be a photographic exhibition, a publication of the history of the college a commemorative football match and a gala banquet..
College Principal Mr. Ed. O’Neill reflected on past achievements, present successes and future goals of the school community. Central to this was the recent upgrading of school facilities, parenting workshops, school tours to
Paris and
Krakow,
Poland and the continued academic successes of the school. He looks forward to the introduction of Transition year in September to complement the academic, vocational and applied courses currently in existence as the school continues to strive to provide for all the students’ needs in line with a Catholic vision of life and education.
“We
were delighted with the turnout” said Mr. O’Neill “it was great to see the huge interest that past pupils have in the school.”
